Terms of service

clipsdk is a service run by Bitgate ("we", "us"). It turns long videos into short clips through an API. These terms apply when you create an account, call the API, use the dashboard or visit this website.

If you accept these terms for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to do so, and "you" means that company. You must be at least 18 to use clipsdk.

• Sign in with a Google account whose email you read. We send billing, security and service notices to that address.
• Your API keys work like passwords. Keep them on your servers, never in browsers, mobile apps or public code.
• You are responsible for everything done with your keys, including the credit they use.
• If a key leaks, tell us at kevin@bitgate.com right away so we can disable it.

Only send video that you own or have permission to use, including permission from the people who appear in it. You are responsible for the video you send and for what you publish with the clips.

Do not use clipsdk to:

• process content that is illegal, or that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
• process sexual content involving minors, or content that threatens or harasses people or exposes their private details
• break, overload, probe or get around the limits of the service, or reverse engineer it
• spread malware or send spam

If you break these rules, we may stop jobs, suspend your account and remove content we are told infringes rights. Where the law allows, we will tell you why. Report abuse to kevin@bitgate.com.

clipsdk is prepaid. You add credit to your account, and each job takes its cost from that credit. The cost depends only on the length of the source video, at the rates on the pricing page: $0.03 per minute, and $0.02 per minute past 2,000 minutes in a calendar month. Every clip cut from a video is included.

• New accounts get $1 of free credit. Free credit has no cash value.
• Credit you buy does not expire for at least 12 months after you buy it.
• Credit is not refundable, except where the law requires a refund.
• Prices do not include VAT or other taxes where these apply.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email. Jobs that run before the change keep the old price.

You keep every right in the videos you send. You allow us to process them only to make the outputs you ask for: transcribing, ranking moments, reframing, captioning and rendering. We do not use your videos or outputs for anything else, and we do not use them to train AI models.

The clips, transcripts, captions, titles and other outputs belong to you. You may use them however you like, within the law and the rights of others.

Scores, reasons, titles and captions are made automatically and can be wrong. Check clips before you publish them.

We delete uploaded source videos and the outputs made from them 7 days after they are created, so download anything you want to keep before then. Request logs are kept for 30 days for security and support. The privacy policy explains what else we store and for how long.

We work to keep clipsdk fast and available, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Limits such as video length, jobs at once and jobs per day are listed on the pricing page and may change.

We may add, change or remove features. If a change breaks existing API integrations, we will email you before it takes effect. If we ever shut clipsdk down, we will give at least 30 days notice and refund credit you bought and did not use.

clipsdk is provided as is. As far as the law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, revenue, data or reputation
• our total liability for all claims together is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for intent or deliberate recklessness. If someone makes a claim against us about video you sent or how you used the outputs, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

You can stop using clipsdk at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing kevin@bitgate.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. Closing an account does not refund unused credit, except where the law requires it or when we shut the service down.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For changes that matter, we email account holders at least 30 days before they apply. If you keep using clipsdk after that date, the new terms apply to you.

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you, as a consumer, the right to go to a court where you live.
